Leaders of Evolution Co-founder and Director of Learning and Development, Damian Hecker discussed what this announcement means to the business.

“We are thrilled to have been endorsed as a member of the AWS EdStart accelerator program. To be working alongside other EdTech pioneers from across the globe is not just an incredible opportunity to grow our business but wonderful recognition for our team on the journey that got us here and those who have supported us along the way.”

Leaders of Evolution deliver leadership, social and emotional learning and career readiness programs for students aged 10 – 18 years and are currently working with schools in Australia, North America and the UK. Their goal is to develop the Competence, Confidence, Character and Connectedness of over 100,000 learners by 2025, placing these young people in a position to be ready for a rapidly changing world further disrupted through the global impact of COVID-19.

“The AWS EdStart program is about solving complex educational problems. Research tells us that 65% of children entering primary school will eventually move into a job that doesn’t yet exist and principals are saying that equipping students with the skills of the future is one of their most pressing challenges,” Hecker said. “This is a problem with education at its core and we’re determined to harness our unique pathway of learning for 10 – 18-year-old’s and the AWS EdStart program to help solve it.”

“The 2030 Workforce Report commissioned by PwC notes that 37% of respondents were worried about automation putting jobs at risk and 74% are ready to learn new skills or completely retrain in order to remain employable.”

When quizzed on the unpredictability of future job prospects for young people, Hecker was upbeat.

“Technology is only going to become more prevalent in business and we must prepare for and embrace this,” Hecker explained. “It is the skills that make us human that will see those who invest in themselves be more employable. That’s our focus – using technology to help young people amplify their human capabilities.”

Included as part of this global initiative for collaboration and learning is access to webinars, resources, tutorials, experts and a global EdTech community. With all of these resources now at their fingertips how do Leaders of Evolution intend to improve the efficiency of their e-learning services and give their schools and students the best possible experience throughout their development journey?

“Through the AWS EdStart program our tech team will be able to enhance our products, our learning designers will get access to innovative approaches to technology-enhanced learning and our marketing team will also get an insight into how others companies educate their customer base,” Hecker said. “It’s a holistic support program to accelerate business growth and we are excited to be a part of it.”

As well as the learning Leaders of Evolution delivers into the education sector they also work with Australian sporting organisations to connect with and educate their communities. Current partners include Essendon Football Club, Special Olympics Australia and Snow Australia. When asked about their growth in this space, Hecker was coy on what was next.

“The great thing about being in the AWS EdStart program is we can share our learning and efficiencies with our partners too. If you keep an eye on our social channels we’ll have some more good news to share here too in the coming weeks!”

An EdTech company on the rise, Leaders of Evolution look well placed to capitalise on what will no doubt be major growth through digital transformation in the education arena over coming years.
