Leaders of Evolution Co-founder Spearheads Keynote Presenters at NCAA Minnowbrook IV Summit, New York

We are proud to announce Leaders of Evolution Co-founder and Director, Jon Shepherd, will be speaking as a keynote presenter at the 4th Annual Minnowbrook Summit for National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) faculty athletic representatives and academic directors hosted by Syracuse University.

Shepherd’s presentation ‘Backpacks to Boardrooms: Amplifying Global Workforce Skills’ will explore the global impacts of COVID-19 on the education sector and showcase why tomorrow’s workforce skills are the currency student-athletes must develop today. He will share personalized career readiness frameworks that will empower institutions to prepare their student-athletes for the most unpredictable future of work the world has confronted in over a century, highlighting the transformative developmental work Shepherd produces with Leaders of Evolution.

“After attending Minnowbrook III in 2019, I’m thrilled with the opportunity to once again collaborate alongside a highly experienced group of collegiate sport administrators.” Shepherd remarks. “COVID-19 has forced me to present online from the other side of the world, however, this speaks to the current state of play and the unwavering need to equip young people with the skills to effectively work across borders”

“One of my greatest privileges is watching our student-athletes’ development, first as students, then as young professionals heading out into the working world.  Having Jon Shepherd of Leaders of Evolution as a keynote speaker this year places a needed emphasis on equipping our student-athletes for life after college, and demonstrates our commitment to this important topic.”

Minnowbrook is an annual gathering of NCAA faculty athletic representatives and academic directors for student-athletes. On October 3rd and 4th, the Minnowbrook Summit at Blue Mountain Lake in Upstate New York will take place both virtually and in-person for those who can safely attend. This summit provides an opportunity for these experienced leaders to collaborate with the goal of uplifting the world of student-athletics. Over 40 NCAA division 1 institutions will be in attendance.

This year’s gathering will be particularly timely as the NCAA wrestles with the impact of COVID-19 and the disruption this has caused, along with the impending Name Image Likeness (NIL) legislature which if passed, will forever change the way student-athletes can profit from their Name, Image or Likeness through their participation in the NCAA.

This year’s summit will feature seven keynote speakers, including the Commissioner of the Big East Conference, Val Ackerman, who will deliver the keynote address ‘Name Image & Likeness in Intercollegiate Athletics: The New Frontier’ and the NCAA Executive Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, Stan Wilcox, who will present ‘The State of Intercollegiate Athletics.’
