LeagueSafe Course – Create A Safe, Healthy And Fun Rugby League Environment

Rugby, while an extremely fun and exciting game to both play and watch, can definitely be dangerous for those without the proper safety training. Delivered by the National Rugby League (NRL), LeagueSafe is a free online awareness course designed to create a healthy, safe environment and is meant to advise and prepare one-field personnel other than Accredited First Aid Officers, of what to look for in an injured player, what to do and not do until a qualified person arrives, and general safety procedures for players. Note that this course is separate from the League First Aid course that prepares players and coaches for emergency situations.

At Leaders of Evolution, we believe that the LeagueSafe course pairs extremely well with our online leadership learning courses.

Enhancing LeagueSafe’s Lessons with Leaders of Evolution

While LeagueSafe is proficient in teaching students the ins and outs of a safe environment, they fail to fully address the characteristics of the leaders who are meant to instil this safe environment. That’s exactly where Leaders of Evolution comes in to help. We are the experts in delivering world-class e-learning courses to enable young people aged 10 to 18 years with the leadership, social-emotional and future workforce skills that will allow them to thrive as global citizens. Not only do we provide students with the information necessary to foster a safe environment, but Leaders of Evolution also goes above and beyond to instil permanent character growth.

Unlike LeagueSafe’s primary focus on on-field safety, we aim to inspire and challenge new student-athlete leadership levels both on and off the field. By challenging current thinking to drive improvement, Leaders of Evolution is dedicated to helping our clients achieve their greatest evolution. With an inclusive learning environment, we guarantee that every student’s individual learning needs and styles will be met and catered to.

Using the 4 C’s to Inspire a Safe Rugby League Environment

In addition to LeagueSafe’s lessons about field safety and etiquette, we urge you to take it a step further by instilling long-term leadership capabilities. Each of Leaders of Evolution’s learning courses follows the 4 C’s learning curriculum that students can use to ensure their safety and their teammates on and off the rugby field.

Competence: The ability to recognise the skills needed to achieve success in any given environment. At Leaders of Evolution, we believe that competence allows students to evaluate their own abilities and acknowledge any problem areas. A competent student has a thorough understanding of proper rugby safety etiquette, and all of the game’s rules and regulations learned through LeagueSafe.

Confidence: One’s belief and trust in their abilities. Our courses inspire students to be confident in themselves. At Leaders of Evolution, confidence relates to developing positive self-worth and recognition that the learner can use the knowledge gained to influence themselves and others. Confidence is an important trait in any sport, especially rugby, as the athlete can focus on their strengths when approaching each game rather than worrying about the final outcome or what could go wrong.

Character: Relates to how the learner develops a sense of self-awareness and behaviours such as empathy, integrity and responsibility within the communities they apply their learning. The Future Skills of the Workforce program we have put together at Leaders of Evolution ensures that students will achieve profound character growth. Rugby players with a strong character display good sportsmanship, win or lose.

Connectedness: At Leaders of Evolution, we define connectedness as how the learner is able to establish and foster positive relationships within the environments they apply their learning. Our courses emphasise the importance of creating meaningful connections with one’s peers. The best rugby players always use their connectedness to help their teammates, whether it be on or off the field.
